Many Australian homes are situated in bushfire prone areas and if yours is one of them please read this page carefully and make sure you watch the video below.
Dry leaves and vegetation which accumulate in roof gutters and valleys is a major cause of fire damage to homes during bushfires so keeping your gutters and roof valleys clean is a huge step towards protecting your home during a bushfire emergency.
Even if the fire-front is hundreds of metres away from your house burning embers carried by strong winds can easily ignite dead leaves and vegetation on your roof. Once this happens the fire can quickly spread under the eaves and into the roof cavity at which point the fire can take hold of your house within seconds with catastrophic results.
Our Gutter Guard product is made of metal and as well as protecting your gutters and roof valleys from leaves and vegetation it will also withstand burning embers which are placed on your roof by the wind.
There are of course other VITAL steps every homeowner should take to minimize the risks and we recommend that you read the Rural Fire Service page on preparing your home for a bushfire emergency.
Remember, our emergency services are the best in the world but you can help them to help you by making sure you are PREPARED.
Bushfire & Ember Protection
Ember attack is a real threat to a house in a bushfire. By installing Leaf Stopper, you can reduce the risk of embers starting spot fires in your gutters.
In 2005 these owners installed Leaf Stopper aluminum gutter guard on their home.
In 2013, this region of the NSW Blue Mountains was devastated when fire tore through the area. All the buildings and trees around this home burned down.
Embers falling into gutters full of dry leaves is a serious fire threat. The Rural Fire Service acknowledges Ember Attack as one of the main reasons home burn down during a bushfire.

“I use Leaf Stopper as my choice of gutter guard. In the Otways region of Victoria, a savage bushfire resulted in around 100 homes burnt down but 4 homes with Leaf Stopper remained standing. There’s no doubt that Leaf Stopper contributed to the safety and protection of these houses”
